Why choose EBC? |
|
Top quality training
The EBC course exceeds Internationally accepted guidelines that state that a TEFL training course must have 100 hours of training including 6 hours of teaching practice. The EBC International TEFL Certificate
course has 150 hours of training and 8 hours of teaching practice.
Our course is accredited and meets British Council
requirements for teachers in its accredited schools.
Click here for more information about the course.
Your course trainers are TEFL experts with years of EFL teaching and TEFL training experience. You are the best, so you get trained by the best.
Accreditation and international recognition
With years of experience and graduates working all over the world, our global contacts in the field that have employed EBC graduates attest to the quality of our teachers and our programs. Language companies that also offer CELTA and Trinity courses also hire EBC graduates.
Our graduates have told us that some of the language schools that we introduce them to (part of our lifetime
job placement assistance program) have said that they give priority to EBC graduates.
Finally, the EBC course is accredited by a British Council acknowledged awarding body, the College of Teachers. This means that many more doors will be open to you regarding jobs. The British Council is a case in point. You can only work for them if you have a qualification, like our Advanced Certificate in TESOL, that meets their minimum teaching qualification requirements.
Jobs
We have an unrivalled job placement assistance programme that so far has had a 100% success rate in getting people working within a week or less of finishing the course.
Lifetime support
Whatever advice you need regarding jobs or your teaching
career you can always contact EBC. We will always be there
to lend a hand if you need it regardless of how long ago you
studied with us.

Who will train me? |
|
As you are the best, we believe that you should be taught by people who are experts in TEFL. Our trainers each have, on average, 10 to 15 years experience teaching English as a foreign language. In addition to TEFL experience, our EBC TEFL trainers hold BAs and Masters degrees in just about every language related area you can think of.
Our trainers also give external lectures on teacher training, organise UNICEF English summer camps and have authored TEFL text books and audio tapes. These people know their subject and even more importantly, they know how to teach it effectively.
By comparison, other courses insist on 5 years or even less TEFL experience and in some cases don't even insist that the prospective trainer has a degree.
More details about our trainers are shown on our about EBC page.

Will I need a travel visa? |
|
If you are from the European Union, Canada, the USA, Australia or New Zealand you DO NOT need a visa to enter
Spain.
If you DO NOT have a passport from a European Union
country, the USA, Canada, Australia or New Zealand then
please make sure that you do the following.
Before you send a deposit you must check with your
nearest Spanish embassy or consulate as to
exactly what you need to do in order to apply for a tourist
visa to enter Spain. In order to take the
course you must have a tourist visa that will allow you to
stay in Spain for 5 weeks. Make sure you have
your visa BEFORE you send your deposit.
If you need a letter of introduction to apply for a visa
there is a non-refundable fee of 100 Euros that must be paid
in advance. If you get a visa, the fee will be deducted from
your course fee. If you do not get a visa, the money will
NOT be refunded.

Will I need a work
permit for Spain? |
|
The short answer is no you won't.
FICTION: It is very hard to find work in Spain if you are not from the European Union.
FACT: This is not true. If you take the advice of the non-experts that make these statements, you will miss out on a once in a lifetime chance to study/work in Spain.
How do we know this? EBC gets calls every week from many language schools in Madrid asking for teachers, EU or non-EU, and they are hired immediately and paid the same rates.
To use the USA as an example: So far, we've had 326
American students take the course in Madrid. They ALL found
work after the course, as did all the Australians, Canadians
and New Zealanders that also studied with EBC.
This is the reality of the current work situation in Madrid.
Our success rate in getting our graduates in for EFL teaching job interviews in Madrid is 100%.
In Madrid it is extremely easy to get work if you have a recognised certificate.
- Madrid has the greatest demand for native English teachers in the whole of Spain.
- The UK and Ireland are the only countries in the European Union (EU) where English is the mother tongue. There aren't enough native English teachers in Spain, which is why 60% of the people that take our course are NOT from the EU.
- 95% of language schools in Madrid don't care if a prospective teacher has a work permit.
- EBC is always being asked for teachers by language schools as early as the first week of a new course.
- All EBC graduates, EU and non-EU, are usually working within a week of finishing the course at full market rates (17 to 25 Euros per hour).
- Many clients/students specifically ask for teachers with certain accents e.g. American because they work for an American company.
If you want to make Spain your permanent home, on request, EBC will refer you to an immigration lawyer if you decide you want to use one. If you want more details
email us. Legal costs are not included in the course fee.
